This set consists of the signed 8"by10" photo, two original newspaper articles and a
hand written letter signed by John Godfrey originally sent with the photo.
The photo is inscribed to Cornelius Greenway.
Cornelius Greenway was an ordained minister and also a decorated WWI vet
who started collecting autographs in the 1920’s. His collection was legendary.

Died 6/12/1958 of an illness

Below  is a letter written in 1944 stating
“Dear Reverend here is the photo of Don Gentile and myself as requested.”
Also discusses Godfrey’s injury. This letter was dictated by Godfrey to an assistant
and then signed by Godfrey (same pen)

Godfrey talks about returning a check the Reverend included and the
assistant initials it in Godfrey’s name. Also one wartime newspaper article
and the another article giving info on when Godfrey died.
